The Chinese have hacked into computer systems throughout the United States. In April 2004 U.S. government and military internet traffic was redirected through Chinese servers for eighteen minutes.
In 2007 a foreign power broke into the Department of Defense, the Department of State, the Department of Commerce, and other federal agencies. They took terabytes of data. In a 60 Minutes interview Jim Lewis, director of the Center for Strategic and International Studies referred to this incident as “an electronic Pearl Harbor” stating “...we probably lost the equivalent of a Library of Congress worth of government information in 2007.”
CBS News correspondent Terry McCarthy reported “that there are factories in China and Southeast Asia that are exact replicas of plants in the United States - built with everything from hacked blueprints and supplier lists down to the settings used to regulate valve pressure for individual machines.”
The above stated attacks are just the tip of the iceberg. The Chinese Communist regime is a threat to the people of the United States. Greed has blinded those in this country that fail to see this. The short term profits produced via Chinese sweatshop labor will be short lived.
