There are many parallels between modern America and the final years of the Roman Empire.  In its last days, Rome imported most of the products it used.  Over the past 30 years America, like Rome, has gone from a net producing nation to a net consuming nation.  At its demise, Rome's largest export was animal dung.  In 2010 for the tenth year in a row, America Chung Nam was the largest American exporter.  Their product: garbage.
